One of the many highlights at Katsucon was getting to finally wear my Sayaka Miki cosplay, and even better, I got to wear it with Aurum Cosplay in her perfect Homura Akemi cosplay. We only wore them long enough for Kimidori Cosplay to grab some shots of us, but it was so worth it for these photos. Kimidori is a talented photographer and photo editor (and seamstress and artist and….), and turned the weirdly-lit hallway we were in into a bright, beautiful setting fit for magical girls.
I’m really happy with how Sayaka came out (which is not something you’ll often hear me say about my work), and this photo really shows off what ended up being my favorite part: the hilt of the sword. I think it’s because I was so intimidated by it initially, but it worked out exactly as I hoped and I think it looks pretty legit!
